Minding Manners!

Minding Manners! <------ETIQUETTE CAMP IS CALLING MY NAME!

Okay, I'm sorry, but I have the notion to pack up and move to the UK, NOW!

'Minding Manners" is all about some Etiquette workshops offered for all (well mannered) people!
Do you know what I would give, sell, or do to go to Etiquette Camp!?!?

Judge me!...or don't and come with me!

In all seriousness though, what a freakin dream! I would be in Heaven to be immersed into a world of manners, and etiquette, and people that still believed both exist! WOW! Props to the UK!

I really do think I live in a dream world sometimes, as most would laugh if I mentioned going to an Etiquette Camp in the UK...but umm, I DID come across the site randomly, so I THINK that's a sign that I should sign up! Can you imagine the tee-shirts?!?!

God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good!

Hey girls!

Normally, I dont speak publically about my Religion, politics, or other things, but today I just have to!

These past few weeks have proved to be quite the challenge! I love my life, but sometimes, it gets to be a lot with school work, Cornhuskin' (Meredith's homecoming, im dancing with my friends!), ect...

Well, this afternoon, I was looking at all that I had ahead of me for the next few weeks...and I just lost it! I just got to the point where I was beyond overwhelmed, tired, and stressed! After about an hour of feeling absolutely hopeless, and worn out, I decided to pray! Yes, I know, it should take a matter of seconds to realize this, buttt, I try to do it all by myself sometimes! BAD IDEA!
All of the sudden, as I started to pray, I just felt this peace come over me. Sobbing, I just kept praying that I could get all of my stuff done, and my energy back! Well, then I turned on iTunes, and one of my many favorite Christian songs, "Savior, Please" (if you haven't heard it, you should! Its beautiful!) was playing!!
I spent about 30 good minutes in serious prayer, and made a to-do list of all that I had to accomplish in the next few days. Right after I finished, I felt so much better!

I sometimes forget to pray like I should, but each time that I pray, I remember why its the right thing to do! Nothing is better than faith! I need to remember that God didnt put me here for me to show him my plans, and when I get overwhelmed, I just have to give it up to God. I have been trying to take on a lot lately, and I do things my own way without any help. I clearly see now, that was an awful choice, and sometimes I just need to slow down, and let God take control, it saves me a lot of time, and confusion! SO much less stressful!! :)

Back when I did TWAM (Teens With A Mission) we always said "God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! I could not agree more! From now on, I just have to step aside and let God take control, it always turns out 10 times better than I planned!

I just wanted to write this down and share!

Have a great Thursday! Any good Halloween Costume ideas?!?!

I Tripped And Fell...But The Ceiling Fan Caught Me!

Last night, I may or may not have been dancing on my bed to my new favorite song, "Run This Town", when, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw a spider on my floor... It seriously looked like a brown reckloose ready to kill me...seriously!
I panicked, tripped over my computer cord on my bed, fell into the ceeling fan...
Take it all in...
THEN I ate the hardwood floor!
...pretty, real pretty!
...I now have a fat lip, and a Formal on Friday night!
Oh, and the spider, just a brown leaf...

FML!

This is obvious if you are a normal reader, because crazy stuff happens to me a lot, but...I have no shame! I've been dying laughing with my friends since 7am...so its okay for you to laugh too, you know you want to!!!!

Another Great Day on LIVE!

Hey girls!

I was so so so excited this morning when I saw that the lovely Julie Andrews was on LIVE with Regis & Kelly! Actually, I get excited every morning when I watch the show, but Julie Andrews is spectacular, and I was just so thrilled! She is so beautiful, just a classic person! In my opinion, she is very much up there with Audrey Hepburn!

She just wrote a new childrens book, and im sure its great! It is filled with poetry, and pictures! She spoke about how her daughter Emma shares her love for poetry, and their favorite poems are inside the book. She said that even now, her family still writes poetry for each other. That is so neat to me! The cover of the book is so much fun, and she is just the nicest person! She kept thanking Regis, Kelly, and all of the fans. It was so genuine! There just dont seem to be many people out there like that anymore.

It makes me wish I was still in New York standing in that stand-by line, what a dream!

Also, on the show this morning, they were calling the lucky person who gets to answer a question...forget that, just to say "HEY" to Regis & Kelly is prize enough!!!
or so you would think...
This woman was making me laugh so hard!
They called, and it went to her machine, but just in time she picked up and tiredly
She said, "Hello?"
R & K said, "HEYYY, (name here)!!
She said, "Hey?"
R & K told her it was them, and she was breathing very heavy!
She said, "Oh, hey, you do know its 6:20 am here right, im just not quite awake yet! Give me a minute..."
R & K apoligized for calling so early, but quickly realized that she had put them on hold haha! They thought she was dead!
Kelly asked if they should maybe? call 911?
Haha! Then, thankfully, she came back to the phone, and they started with the question.
Well 30 seconds ended and when Regis told her it was over,
She said, "WHAT!?" "WHAT HAPPENED!?"
Haha, needless to say, 6:20 was just not a good time for her!

I will tell you one thing, if Regis & Kelly called me at 4am, I would be as perky as ever...ITS REGIS & KELLY!

Tomorrow is Michael Kors, and since K met him this summer while working for Elie Tahari (she met him in the elevator!) we are most certanily going to watch!!

Now I will get back to the fabulous Julie Andrews!
Here are some of my very favorite quotes:

"I am an optimistic lady."

"On the whole, I think women wear too much and are to fussy. You can't see the person for all the clutter."

"Perseverance is failing 19 times and succeeding the 20th."

"Some people regard discipline as a chore. For me, it is a kind of order that sets me free to fly."

"Sometimes oppurtunities float right past your nose. Work hard, apply yourself, and be ready. When an opportunity comes you can grab it."

LOVE her! Such an inspiration!

I Miss NYC!

Hey girls!

Well, the title pretty much sums it all up, im homesick! I miss the city more than I could have ever imagined! I am so happy because I continue daily to keep up with many of the good friends I made while I was there! It is so crazy to hear about all of their lives, and how they actually DO go on after NYC!
We have all decided that NYC just wouldnt be the same unless we were all back together, but still I feel as though I should have cherished my time and experiences there more than I did!
When I was there, I really didnt take anything for granted, I knew what a blessing it was, and I felt like I was dreaming!
Even now, I think back on how wonderful it was to wake up, and walk past Penn Station, and Macys every single day to go to work! I miss seeing all of the familiar faces, and breathing the contaminated air in the subway (yes, I admit it, I even miss the subway!) I miss finding a new spot every single day because I would get lost, or sometimes just because I ventured around with my friends!
I miss my friends!
I miss having a nightly Starbucks hour with U, as we discussed all of the happenings of the given day, and people watched for hours! I miss having a pre Van Deimens G&T with KT, talking about everything under the sun and plotting how we were (ARE) going to have our very own talk show one day! I miss running up and down the streets of the Upper East Side in my monogrammed Seersucker dress, (which shocked people more than both of us running down the street!) I miss having drinks with Katy, and everyone in Coopers Tavern in our "spot" after work where we could fit 12 people who could tell stories that made me laugh harder than I have ever laughed! I miss running from room to room to have a random movie night, I miss wearing a pencil skirt every day to work! I really miss client meetings, and meeting all of the new people! I miss salsa dancing with Kevin, and singing "Dont Stop Believin" with everyone! I miss the cab rides, and dinner once a week at 12th and 2nd! I miss going to McDonalds across from home after a fun night out and getting a double QP every night for weeks...im sure my arteries are paying for this! I miss all of the events that everyone was welcome to attend, because the city is just not a clicky place, I miss being my own boss, and learning how to hold my own! I miss working across from J, nect to K, A, and D. We had the best time! I miss seeing the Empire State Building every night when it was lit up! I miss New York Pizza, they rip you off down here, those slices were HUGE! I miss the attitudes, lifestyles, and beliefs of New Yorkers! I miss feeling like I could do anything I wanted to do, because HELLO I lived in the city of dreams, anything is possible! I miss people everywhere living but not noticing anything accept where they are going! I miss the simple things...those make us all the happiest! I miss so much more, I just could go on and on!

My favorite memories, well, I could write a book but here are just a few!

-Running down the streets of the Upper East Side with KT singing a song, and being free as a bird!
-Having the mic yanked out of my hand mid high note during karoke, because in NYC...its serious! KT and I were singing a little diddy for Michael Jackson, and the female version of Simon Cowell totally ruined our moment...whatever, whatever!
- Everyone meeting after work and just being together for hours on end! SO much fun!
- The subway...enough said!
- All of the client meetings!
- Living with my best friend in a room the size of a closet! Im proud, and also stunned we made it without killing each other! YAY!!
- MOST IMPORTANTLY...meeting my idols, REGIS & KELLY!

SO many more, but I cant list them all!!

I realize though, that I cant miss it forever, so I need to treasure the memories and be thankful it happened! A day doesnt go by that I dont laugh or smile about something that happened in NYC! I look at all of my pictures, and OH MY GOSH what I wouldnt give to have 1 more day! BUT, its the memories that count, and it was such a huge blessing to get to live there for the summer! I just loved every minute of it!

We have all been discussing going back to the city after we graduate and getting an apt...who knows what will happen!?
I know though, that I thank God everyday for giving me the greatest summer ever!

Will post more soon!
