Anchored Style!

Hey girls!

Anchored Style

The newest "surfer-prep" brand ready to set sail, and drop its anchor into your closet!

This brand is up and coming, and ready to provide your wardrobe with a touch of class for the upcoming Spring season!

In the words of Mark Twain, take a moment to "throw of the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor, and catch the trade wind in your sails."

For the past 9 months, creator, Lauren Siktberg has been living Twain's famous words and setting out to "dream, discover, explore, and to be frank, work her tail off!"

Her days are spent searching, and throwing herself into researching, planning, and designing Anchored Style!

Anchored Style wasn't just created by one set of eyes, ears, and one opinion. Oh no, Anchored Style was created by all of the eyes, ears, and opinions of local sailors, surfers, kite boarders, sun bathers, and fishermen to encompass what people truly want in their clothing!

Anchored Style was created by pouring an immense amount of time, and effort into the "Surfer-Prep" style that it has become!

As Anchored Style sets sail, we hope it will drop the anchor into your wardrobe for this Spring season!

We know you're convinced, but just in case...

"Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country."
JFK, 50 years ago yesterday.

Words that still ring true.

John F Kennedy Library Online!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of the Kennedy Family.

Jackie O is in a Lilly Pulitzer Dress, timeless!

Have a great Friday!

Slim Aarons Photography

Hey y'all!

I greatly admire Slim Aarons photography. Something about each photo genuinely stands out, and captures my attention.

Slim Aarons was an American photographer noted for photographing socialites, jet-setters and celebrities.

His most noteworthy photograph was shot in California during 1957.
Kings of Hollywood, a 1957 New's Year's Eve photograph that depicted Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper and James Stewart relaxing at a bar in full formal wear.
(does it get any better?!)

Aaron's work appeared in Life, Town & Country and Holiday magazines.

One aspect of his work that most impresses me, is that Aarons never used a stylist, or a makeup artist.

Aarons claims that his career was simply made on "photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places."

What a perfect way to make a living!

Aarons has 4 photobooks that I am aware of, called

* A Wonderful Time: An Intimate Portrait of the Good Life (1974)
* Slim Aarons: Once Upon a Time (2003)
* Slim Aarons: A Place In the Sun (2005)
* Poolside with Slim Aarons (2007)

Poolside with Slim Aarons is my personal favorite, the pictures are absolutely beautiful

Here are some of my favorite pictures!

Brooks Brothers Spring 2011

Hey y'all!
Brooks Brothers has been my store of choice for a long time, they are timeless, classic, and will always be a preppy's top pick!

As Spring approaches, new outfits (and debutantes!) are making their debut into this preppy society, so here are some of my favorite pieces from this Spring 2011 Lookbook!

Some of the pieces I was not as fond of, which is highly unusual for Brooks Brothers, but a few of the mens pants, and shorts featured CARGOS!

No bueno.

However, there are 2 pieces that immediately struck my attention!

When you spot the man in the bright pants with the fabulous embroidery, and the colorful dress on the female, those are my two top picks for this upcoming season!

Have a great Friday!

Also, I want to point out that Social Primer has teamed up with Brooks Brothers, and together they have collaborated a bowtie collection that is to die for!

Priced at just $59.50, every preppy should own (more than) one!

If I were George, I would NOT be able to keep a straight face!

Woman Falls Into Fountain

bahahahahahahahahahaha!

...I think her pride hurts worse than the fall did!

Has anyone else seen this, I cannot believe she is bringing a lawyer into it!

Idiot.
