RIP Chazzles

Well, I found out tonight that Charlie had to be put to sleep. Usually, when a pet dies, it doesn't really effect me very much, but this time since I ran over him, I feel a little bad about it! I just feel so bad for my poor sister! She says shes fine, but I know she has to be a little bit sad.
Oh well, Charlie's in a better place!
I am already looking for a beautiful new kittens to surprise her with when my roommates and I go to my house this weekend to watch my brother on Homecoming Court!
Tonight, we went to Pets Mart and got numbers for all of the rescue clinics in Raleigh. Just spur of the moment, I asked if any of them had any Shih-zu's or pugs because they are so adorable and I was just hoping I could snag one! Unfortunately, the lady said they didn't usually get those up in the shelter!I should have known that no shelter would have them, but it never hurts to ask! I also asked if they had any orange, or white cats because thats what I really need and they DO!! YAY, so tomorrow is the day! We are going to look as soon as I get done at the News Station! My sweet roommates and I are determined to find a kitten before Friday!
I swear those girls are like my sisters, so helpful! Always there when I need them, and of course vise-versa!

Oh well, after many tears this weekend, I think this is going to be a great week.

I hope y'all had a great Monday!

Fall Break!

Hey girls!

I just got back from Fall Break and it was great! It was so nice to get to spend time at home, Salisbury is my absolute favorite place in the world! I am glad to be back though, I left this morning at 8 and got back here around 10 just in time for my Othello Test...eww. I took my brothers friend with me today because he needed a ride. I for sure thought it would be the most awkward 2 hours ever, because I just didnt know the guy that well but it turns out that he is just the nicest guy and we talked for the whole 2 hours! What fun!

So last week, I left on Wednesday night and headed home almost ready to go 80 in a 65 because it was just that time in the semester where I NEEDED A BREAK! When I got home, my mom was there as always to meet me with a big hug and a Diet Sundrop, (shes the best!) then we had our usual porch time for about an hour and I told her about ALL of the things that had been going on. Of course, you know them all because I post them on here. The first night was the beginning of what was a very interesting, but wonderful fall break!

Here's the story!

So, Friday my mom and I had planned on doing some SERIOUS fall shopping because Banana Republic was too irresistible to pass up, and we had to pick up my brothers new suit so why not shop?! (He is escorting his friend this weekend on Homecoming Court, 3 girls asked him!! GO SAM! I am so excited for him!) Anyways, so on Friday, I woke up and decided that I would go to my favorite BBQ place and get a sweet tea! It was about 11 o'clock, and as I was pulling in my driveway and I was seriously going like 2 miles an hour...when I reached for my croakies on my mirror I heard a CRUNCH sound!

AHHH! Okay let me just say I ALWAYS try to break for animals, and I could not believe what happened next!

So I looked around, and I thought...that better have been our dog, Ralph's dog toy! I didn't see my little sisters cat, Charlie, anywhere though and I knew that he was outside. Sometimes Charlie and Ralph wander to the golf course, so I thought maybe I hit one of Sam's soccer balls...I guess what I am saying is...I was too scared to get out of the car and see what I did!

All of the sudden, I see poor Charlie dart from in front of my car and run into the woods in the new neighbors yard! I swear, I thought I just knicked his tail though because he was running incredibly fast, so I knew none of the major parts of him were crushed, he was still in tact thank the Lord!

I decided after about 5 minutes of shock and denial that I REALLY DID hit the cat to go search him out in the bushes! I kept calling him, and we have new neighbors as I said and I had to go into their yard (they are both just as old as fossils so I didn't think they would notice!) WRONG! The woman was sitting on her sun porch just staring at me with the funniest look, I really had no choice but to smile and wave, even though tears were pouring down my face...oh well! She waved back, she doesn't see very well! I know she was probably thinking what the hell? Y'all, she doesn't even know where she just moved too, there is never a dull moment in our neighborhood...I sure hope they enjoy.

Anyways, so I started looking and calling his name, not knowing what exactly had happened I was thinking the worst! I couldn't let anything happen to Charlie! My sister absolutely LOVES that cat, she buys him outfits, Halloween costumes, and treats him like royalty! It's really funny, and maybe a little over the top, but you know people love their pets. All of the neighborhood loves him too just because Sarah talks him up like hes a person haha, we had friends in the neighborhood calling all weekend to check on the poor thing! I felt so awful!

Anyways, so I eventually found him laying in some ivy, as I went in to look at the damage, I took a tree branch to the eye, and a spider web to the face! OUCH, now I have a bruise on my eye...pretty! Not that this even compares to getting hit by a car or anything!! Just saying...anyways so I was just a mess at this point just so upset because I knew he was hurt and I did it! He wasn't meowing or anything, just staring at me and acting normal. The vet told me he was in shock. Anyways, so I picked him up and it turned out that his leg was an absolute mess! I called the vet and just lost it! I told them I hit my sisters cat and they just had to fix him! The lady was like "girl calm yourself down before someone else gets hurt with your car!" Haha, at the time...RUDE, but now looking back, it was kind of funny! I took him in, and anyways the first 24 hours were an extremely trying time, because they didn't know if he would make it. Thankfully, today Sarah gets to pick him up from the vet because it ended up that his leg had popped out of place. The vet said he could pop it back in but if it doesn't heal, they will have to put Charlie to sleep...oh my gosh! OH The guilt!!! I am already looking for a cute puppy to take home because Sarah really wants another do. I found a little Shitzu so I already e-mailed the lady and I know everything will work out just fine.

I just cant believe I did that!

So anyways, I eventually did do my shopping, and it was great! I got 2 new cute dresses, and a new suit from Banana Republic for work! I am so excited! Banana Republic is having a huge sale right now, so if you haven't been you should go! Polo also FINALLY got their hoodless sweatshirts in, and they had a pink and green one! I love those, the only other color they had was gray and I really don't look too cute in gray so I am waiting to see if more come out. I would love to have a blue or yellow one!

Friday night was "Downtown Night" and it was so much fun! Not only did I get my picture taken at the political office with cardboard cut outs of McCain and Palin (YEAH!), but also there is this cute gift shop called "Queens" and she had her whole upstairs decorated for Christmas! It was truly so beautiful! At least 5 upside down Christmas Trees, and probably 20 more trees! She had everything, monogrammed Christmas coasters, wine glasses, and beautiful, beautiful ornaments. I got a lot of my Christmas shopping out of the way!! I never get this early of a start on it, truth be told I am nowhere near ready for the Holidays, but it was nice to knock some of it out before all of the madness starts! I remember trying to go to a mall one time 3 days before Christmas...absolute HELL! Nobody spoke English, I bet there were more strollers than people (no offense to those with babies!!) and also the traffic just gets to be awful when I go that late! Never again, I am getting it done!

Sunday we celebrated all of the birthdays on my moms side of the family, and my aunt apparently hates to cook, so we all went to The Cheesecake Factory at Southpark Mall! It was really good, and it was great to visit with everyone!

PLEASE go google all of the Tina Fey skits where she plays Sarah Palin, they are absolutely hailarious! Especially the one about the VP Debate where the camera goes to her, and she has a flute and says "Oh are we not doin' the talent portion?!" HAHAHA!!
