Hey girls!
So tomorrow is the big day, I will be waking up at 9am to watch Live With Regis & Kelly!
I'm a little nervous, I think a lot of people back home found out about my excitement and I hope they don't think IM on TV. My picture will be on TV, and I was front row in the audience. That's good enough for me though, and still counts just the same!
I hope so much that I win this "contest"
Truly, I thought the prize was just having my picture featured, but apparently on Monday, they will announce the winner of who looks the most like Kelly Ripa!
Please, if you have time, tomorrow after the show go to Regis and Kellys website and vote for my picture!
Also, if any of you happen to DVR Regis and Kelly, and you want to make me a copy, I will gladly mail you a check! I cant tape it here in NYC, and my parents are both out of town! However, a lot of my friends are taping it as well, but just in case!
Thanks girls!
Have a great Thursday, and a happy Friday!
The best blush to use is laughter, it puts roses on your cheeks, and in your soul!

I LOVE Regis & Kelly!
OH MY GOSH!
So, like a week ago I got really bored at work and I was looking at Regis and Kellys website with the girls!
I saw that it was about to be "Celebrity Look Alike Week!!"
A.K.A. My favorite week of the year!
Just as quick as I could, I sent my picture in for Kelly Ripa's look alike!
I wasn't going to do it, but people do tell me I look like her a lot, so why not!?
Well, yesterday, the producer called me from LIVE and told me that my picture was picked as one of the finalists.
OMG!
I have never been so excited in my life, I was speechless! So thrilled!
This morning, I decided to go to the show because the Friday shows are filmed on Thursdays, and if I was a finalist I wanted to attempt to be in the audience so that I could possibly meet them both!
I would wait in the stand by line as long as it took me to get in!
I got to the Subway, and oh gosh, not such a good idea at 5am! Right as I got down to the 1 train, which I might add, I have never taken before, I saw a man with blonde dreads. Trust me, he wasn't a natural blonde! Also, I saw a woman who looked like she wanted to kill somebody, real pretty! I was really not in the mood to watch her make a scene.
In hindsight, I probably should have taken a cab!
So starting from the beginning...I woke up (forced myself out of bed) at 4am, got ready, and went straight to LIVE'S studio to wait in the standby line for tickets! I had been hoping and praying all night that I would be able to get in some how! I kept a really positive attitude, and I knew if it was meant to be, it would happen. It was just really imperative for me to be inside the studio on that particular day!
I found out pretty quickly, after the standby numbers were given out, that I was # 17...I guess its better then 20. Apparently usually only the first 15 get in.
On the up side, I ended up meeting the nicest people! First, I met a mother and her daughter from Texas who were on a weekend getaway! They were so sweet, and easy to talk to. At 5 am, you never know who's gonna have an attitude! Then, shortly after, I met 2 girls behind me who had just graduated college, and were living in New York! They were into acting, and very determined! Also, easy to get along with! Then, I met a woman named Wanda and her husband! He brought her flowers in line for her birthday, and then we started talking about how excited she was! I was so excited for her, what a way to spend a birthday! Lastly, I met a grandmother who frequently attends Regis and Kelly because her daughter lives in the city! So much fun! Her little grandkids came to visit, because we didn't move in line for 3 hours, and of course they were adorable! We all stood very close in line, and got to know each other quite well! At the end of it all, we all exchanged e-mails!
Finally, it got to be 7am. This was when the people with tickets started getting to the studio. They get to go in first, obviously!
Once all of the ticket holders got there, It was packed, and so from 7 to 7:30, I was really hostile because HELLO I had been there since 5, and it was serious! I really wanted to go to that show! Then, at just the right time, we found out we all got a complementary breakfast! That made me feel...a little bit better! I got a HUGE bagel and so I had plenty of energy!
Shortly after, around 7:45, I saw Regis walk out of his apartment building! He was so crisp, and so clean cut! He lives right beside his studio, and walks to work every day! He waved at all of us, and we shot pictures!
After an hour of waiting and eating breakfast, the stand-byers got to go into the building and wait for our number to be called!
Just being in the building was good enough for me! I was standing right beside the case with all of Regis and Kelly's awards, and a TV where we could watch if we didn't get in! I was so ecstatic!
Once inside, we realized that only 10 of the people on stand by were going to get to see the first show Live at 9am. I didn't get to, but a bunch of us watched it on TV.
Eventually, it got to be 10 o'clock, and my heart was pounding! At first, 4 people would go, then another 4, and then I was the next one in line! I was like HELL no, this line better not stop on me, ive been here too long! I waited, and waited, and prayed, and prayed!Thank GOD, about 5 minutes later, the lady came out and took 4 more of us.
When we got into the studio, it was me and my friend from line, and the lady told us to sit in the front row!
Yes, I SAT FRONT ROW!
OH MY GOSH!
HEAVEN!
Eventually, after Gilman warmed the audience up, Regis & Kelly came out, and I was beaming from cheek to cheek!
I know I will be on air sometime next week in the audience, the camera man and I got pretty close, he has family at Wrightsville Beach...big connection, I got some camera time!
While I was seated, the woman beside me and I switched e-mails and she is going to send me all of her pictures, including the ones of me and Kelly, and me and Regis and Kelly! AHHHHH!!!
I broke my camera a while back, so she was so sweet to do that!
Then, I was telling my new friend about my picture hopefully being featured as Kellys look alike, and all of those women over heard me! They were all just absolutely adorable, and taking a weekend trip!
All of the sudden 20 people were tapping my shoulder calling me Kelly, and saying they were gonna SCREAM when they saw my picture, and that they would all vote for me!
I was like "My real names Katie, but PLEASE call me Kelly!"
YAY! I love meeting new people! So fun!
Then at that time, Kelly was out of her seat on commercial break, and my new camera man friend told me to call her name, she would come say hey and do pictures!
Well, I shyly screamed "Kelly!"
She looked over, smiled, and said "YES, WHAT, WHERE, IM COMING!" and she came over!
I asked her if we could get a picture, still beaming from ear to ear, because you know she is who I want to be in 5 years!
She was so sweet, and took a picture with me!!!
As we were posed all of the women that I had just met kept telling her "that's your look alike, shes going to have her picture up in a few minutes!"
Kelly was so so sweet to me!
She was like,
"your so adorable, I wish I looked like you" "You remind me of me 10 years ago!"
Y'all, seriously, shes Kelly Ripa, every woman in America wants to look like her! She is extremely modest! LOVE HER!
Then, we took tons of pictures together and she said,
"I wasn't suppossed to know that you were a look alike, but i'm going to remember that when it pops up!"
AHHH!!!!
Well, then the show started back, and there were look a likes for Michelle Obama, daughter, and kids! They all looked just like them! Then there was Bill Clinton, and Leo Decaprio!
After that, they did the Regis and Kelly look alike pictures!
As I had hoped for, I was nominated!
YAY! I am so so happy!
When my picture came up, I was clapping so hard, and all the girls were screaming around me yelling,
"SHES HERE SHES HERE!"
Kelly looked at me as my picture popped up, pointed and said,
"That's Katie Garner, shes in our audience today!"
After the next break, Kelly brought Regis over to meet me, and when I saw him my eyes got as big as apples and I said "REGIS!"
He said
"come here sweets, lets get a photo of the 3 of us!"
We took tons of pictures together, and then he said,
"Katie, the prize is going to be yours, I can tell! You do look like my co-host here! I'm gonna help you win!"
Then he winked at me, put his arm around me (fanning myself!) and we took another picture with the 3 of us!
After that, the break was over, and they went back on set!
Again, I was in shock (and still am!)
I met Regis and Kelly, like personally! I am so so so happy, I just don't have words!
I seriously thank God for giving me the ability to talk to anyone! I just love them both!
I really need to find a way to record tomorrows show!!
I will say that Regis and Kelly are 2 of the nicest people I have ever met! They talked to everyone, and took pictures with everyone!
It was a day that I will never, ever forget!
So, like a week ago I got really bored at work and I was looking at Regis and Kellys website with the girls!

Tomorrow!
Hey girls!
I have the BEST news!
I decided, tomorrow i'm going to the Regis & Kelly stand by line!
I would get tickets, but its a 12 month wait, and I just don't have that kind of time!
I don't know that anyone is gonna come with, but i'm definitly going! I dont care if the stand by line is in a dark alley, HELLO its Regis & Kelly!!
WOO HOO!
It has seriously been my dream for YEARS to go see Regis & Kelly live! Wendy Williams was so good, the girls and I are looking at other shows to go to now!
I'm gonna get up at 4am and head over, even though you arent suppossed to be out there until 7. I want to make sure i'm in the front of the stand by line.
YES, I may get mugged
YES, I may fall asleep and someone may cut in front of me in line
YES, I may not even get a ticket
YES, I may go by myself
BUT, I have to go, or I will regret it.
Also, tomorrow is David Beckham, and I think hes SO gorgeous!
Im excited!
OMG!
So yesterday, I dropped off a perscription of mine at this pharmacy near my hotel!
At home, I use Walgreens because, well, who doesnt!?
Walgreens has all of my insurance stuff on file, and so normally I just walk in, hand it off, and pay a small co-pay.
I guess I wasnt thinking when I dropped it off yesterday, or I would have actually found a Walgreens! I asked at this other pharmacy if they could get my insurance stuff there. This woman didnt speak great english so she just nodded.
I went to get my medicine earlier today and it was wayyyyyy more then I thought it was gonna be, because of course, I didnt follow through correctly, I really should have made sure!
No ma'am, no co-pay today!
OMG!
New York, New York...
I mean its not her fault, it wasnt my pharmacy!
There goes my funds until next week...oops!
Oh well, on the bright side, I got my stuff filled I was a happy girl!
Just another "Katie" moment!
Next time I will just suck it up and find a Walgreens, but it seemed so convenient just to take it to this pharmacy because this is NYC and I knew where it was! I cant venture too far, I wont find my way back! :)
Also, last night I was so excited! I talked to my mom and sister who are on a mission trip in Kentucky right now with our church!
My church goes every year with a group called T.W.A.M. "Teens With A Mission!" They usually travel to Mexico, but this year with the Swine Flu, and kidnappings, it might have done more harm then good for them to be there!
I remember both mission trips in Mexico during my junior and senior years of High School! Both times, I loved it! Mission trips can change your life, and strengthen your faith immensly!
This is my sisters first TWAM trip, and I just know shes going to love it!
They called me, a little tired, when they got there! The whole group drove for 8 hours! They told me when they got to the church, it had nothing in it, so they were all buying air mattresses, ect.
Apparently, the church they were staying at made our Mexico Bunker look good...I dont believe that though, in Mexico there were roaches the size of freakin footballs! I cant count how many nights I slept with one eye open because I was worried one was gonna attack me...so gross!
It is so funny how different it is with my mom out of town and not in Salisbury! Its like this week, I really cant screw up, get injured, ect. because shes not home! I actually have to handle all of my affairs this week, and take care of myself with nobody to be there if I mess up, its good though! This week really is a taste of the real world!
I'm used to taking care of myself in some ways, but in other ways, not so much! Clearly, i'm ready to be back in Salisbury for a week before school so I can go shopping, eat the good dinners my mom cooks, and be back in my bubble! Although, the more I think about it, the more I dont wanna leave the city either! It really is the best of both worlds coming all the way up here from such a small town!
In random news,
I'm seriously considering making myself a dermatoligist appointment! My friend went the other day for something, and I noticed after my back peeled that this one spot itched so so bad, and just hurt! Well, its of course a freccle on my back (I hate the word mole, its disgusting!) So I really think I might make one and go!
Tonight is karoke night at Van Deimens! I havent decided what im doing yet, because i've been so tired lately! Who knows though, I almost always end up going with everyone! :)
Have a great Tuesday!

Wendy Williams!
Hey girls!
My PR Firm and I decided a while back that we may be able to attend the Wendy Williams Show. I didnt take it too seriously though, because I didnt want to get my hopes up.
Well, I guess sometimes dreams do come true, because we got to go this morning to the premier!
AHHHH!!
I just love Wendy, she is absolutely hilarious!
I really don't know how to even put into words how happy I was all day, it was seriously my favorite day in the city!
J and I left the hotel around 7:30 and took a cab to the Wendy Williams studio. Her studio has pink signs everywhere, so of course, its adorable! We were waiting in line for probably 30 minutes, when we met this guy named Aaron! He was hailarious! We got pictures with him, because he could dance like nothing I had ever seen...in my life!
I just loved him!
He kept screaming and dancing, and then later on when we all got to dance on stage (ill get to that in a minute!) he did the "Single Ladies" dance better than any "single lady" there!
GO AARON!
A few minutes later, K and I saw the Fox 5 entertainment reporter!
HELLO!
I had to say hey, I almost interned for them, and shes doing what I dream of doing one day! Gosh to be done with school, I just pray every day that I will have the opportunity to become a reporter, I just know thats what I am suppossed to do, loved watching the reporters in action today, they were all excellent at what they do!
Anyways, so yes, we saw the FOX reporter!
We called her over, and she was so sweet! She asked what our majors were, told us we looked like TV reporters, and then took a picture with us! I was in Heaven!
After that, we got to go into the waiting area, and fill out questions to ask Wendy! Her waiting area is so adorable and has quotes such as "the bigger your hair, the smaller your hips", "How YOU Doin?!", and it was pink pink pink! So cute!
As I was filling my question sheet out, a man came up to me and told me that I looked very "commercial", would I be interested in that area?
Um...DUH!
He gave me his card, and we WILL be in touch!
I proceeded to fill out my sheet, and return it.
After that, we were taking pictures of her studio, which I will post later!
Then, we proceeded into the actual studio to take our seats!
I thought, okay, so my dream came true, but im sure we will sit kind of far back and that would have been totally fine!
BUT NO, Y'ALL!
We were front row, and I was in the very center! We got to sit right next to Vanessa Williams mother, and Wendy Williams when Vanessa was preforming her new song, "The Real Thing" (which by the way, is so freakin good, and the whole studio got a copy of her CD) While she was preforming, Wendy looked over at K and I and started saying "Isnt she beautiful, im so thrilled about her new album, love your dresses, how do you like the front row?!"
I said "Yes, Yes, Thank You, LOVE IT!" You know, with a lot more added in, but I was a bit in shock!
I HAD A CONVERSATION WITH WENDY WILLIAMS!
My life is complete!
In the beginning, we all got to go in the middle of the stage and dance to music while Wendy was still getting ready. They do a lot with the audience which is so much fun!
Then, it was Q & A with Wendy, and my PR collegue, got to ask a question on live TV, my other friend got to ask one at commerical break, and Wendy gave her a hug!
After the show, we got to watch her do promo stuff! So fun!
I couldnt believe that we got to sit on the front row, I have never! I just loved every minute of it!
There is so much more I want to say, but cant put into words! Little things always make me so happy, and today made my summer!
It re-airs at 10 tonight on FOX and I fully plan on watching!
I was so happy for my PR girls for making it onto TV! I am also on there a few times! LOVE it!
Have a great Monday!
