Tonight should be another great time! I am attending this event, and so excited about it!
Here is the description, if you are in NYC and are going, let me know and we can meet!
"Come join fashion enthusiasts and friends of the Coalition Against Hunger on June 12th for a Fashion Show featuring New York City designed clothing from 1925-1965. The event will begin at 7pm with a silent auction of hand crafted and celebrity designed china plates and a community art display by New York City students. Gilles Montezin, acclaimed designer of pieces for Sarah Jessica Parker and Madonna as well as for the movies Sex and the City and Confessions of a Shopaholic, will open the fashion portion of the evening featuring pieces from his couture collection. William T. Buster, will then feature original pieces from the 1925-1965 era in the following two scenes: Scene I: "American Beauty 1950-1965" will be a salute to Audrey Hepburn and Jacqueline Kennedy styles. Black dresses, suits, and hats, mingled with bold reds and whites in many timeless and modern designs that are still symbols of American elegance recognized and duplicated around the world to this day. Scene II: "Art Deco Design 1925-1949" will feature the youthful aesthetic and short skirts from the 1920's, 1930's and 1940's inspired Hollywood glamour and French couture with clean, body-hugging lines and full, sweeping dresses that predate the look of the 1950's. This section will also feature "The New Look", launched famously by Christian Dior in 1947, celebrating the postwar lifting of fabric rationing and manufacturing restrictions."
