Slim Aarons Photography

Hey y'all!

I greatly admire Slim Aarons photography. Something about each photo genuinely stands out, and captures my attention.

Slim Aarons was an American photographer noted for photographing socialites, jet-setters and celebrities.

His most noteworthy photograph was shot in California during 1957.
Kings of Hollywood, a 1957 New's Year's Eve photograph that depicted Clark Gable, Van Heflin, Gary Cooper and James Stewart relaxing at a bar in full formal wear.
(does it get any better?!)

Aaron's work appeared in Life, Town & Country and Holiday magazines.

One aspect of his work that most impresses me, is that Aarons never used a stylist, or a makeup artist.

Aarons claims that his career was simply made on "photographing attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places."

What a perfect way to make a living!

Aarons has 4 photobooks that I am aware of, called

* A Wonderful Time: An Intimate Portrait of the Good Life (1974)
* Slim Aarons: Once Upon a Time (2003)
* Slim Aarons: A Place In the Sun (2005)
* Poolside with Slim Aarons (2007)

Poolside with Slim Aarons is my personal favorite, the pictures are absolutely beautiful

Here are some of my favorite pictures!
